USAGE OF MEDICAL LASERS

The following chart gives a small idea of the applications of the lasers in the medical field,

and this chart must be upgraded with new applications coming each year.

Applications are classified into 3 categories, versus the laser power and the required effect.

We can see the high power or hard lasers, used for destroying; the average power lasers used for

their photochemical effects,and the athermic or soft lasers, used for their photoelectric effect and reconstructive effects

The IPL devices are not lasers, but they are Intense Pulsed Light systems,

using pulsed flashlamps and correcting filters , for use in dermatology,

mainly for Hair removal and Rejuvenation.
